Рыба-кит?

Является ли Альбион абсолютной монархией? Задали мне вопрос. А может, конституционная? А где тогда конституция? Все очень запутанно. Теряются даже члены палаты Лордов.

"People will start thinking, what the hell is going on?" сказал лорд Berkeley. "We are in the 21st century, not the 18th century and it is crazy to think they are even trying to do this. The royal family should give up this special privilege and we should all obey the law of the land. Just because they have private estates, private incomes and land from several centuries ago doesn't mean they should have the right to interfere."

Dear Lord Berkeley,

Marine Navigation Bill: Prince of Wales' Consent

The Marine Navigation Bill that you introduced on 5 July would affect the Prince of Wales' interests and so will require the Prince of Wales' consent for its consideration by Parliament. The procedure for obtaining such consent is for you to write to Earl Attlee (as the Lords minister likely to be responsible for responding to your Bill) to ask him to approach Clarence House to seek the consent of the Prince of Wales to the Marine Navigation Bill so far as it affects His interests. If granted, the consent will need to be signified to the House by a minister who is a Privy Counsellor just before the third reading of your Bill. The Government Whips Office in the Lords and the Parliamentary Branch of the Department for Transport are aware of what is required. I do hope that this is clear, but please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any further questions.

В нем сообщается, что для рассмотрения парламентом его законопроекта требуется разрешение Принца Уэльского. Для этого лорду необходимо написать к графу Attlee и попросить его обратиться в Clarence House за разрешением.  Высочайшее разрешение, если таково будет дано, должно быть оглашено парламенту министром, членом Privy Council (советники монарха).

В конце письма клерк выражает надежду, что все парламентарию растолковали доходчиво.

Все понятно и нам, не так ли?
